Mark One Hire Training Centres developed from the needs of staff training for Mark One Hire. When we reached 40 employees we felt the need for a full time trainer within the company to make sure that our staff were correctly qualified and to ensure that an ongoing training programme could be developed and maintained. In 2007 we became accredited training centres for both IPAF (International Powered Access Federation) and PASMA (Prefabricated Access Suppliers and Manufacturers Association). We then started to get requests from our customers to offer training, initially on a fairly small scale, but happy customers led to requests for more training. As the training started to gain momentum, we had to increase our trainers and in 2008 built dedicated training facilities at Southend and Chelmsford to keep up with demand. The ethos of the company is “happy people come back” so we try to ensure people enjoy their training (not a question of just ticking the boxes). The result is that we now find customers have completed several training courses with us and recommend us to others.

Paula Batchelor joined the company in 2003, initially as a Personal Assistant to the two Directors. The Training side of the business has expanded steadily since 2007 and Paula now oversees the training team, which consists of 3 Instructors (a fourth is on the way) and a full time Administrator. “as a company we pride ourselves in giving good customer service and as the Training Manager with a dedicated team of Instructors it gives me great personal satisfaction to be able to provide the best quality training for our customers – big enough to deliver – small enough to care”
