IPAF Powered Access Training Courses

Course Summary:-

• One day training course (2 machine categories) from £165 per person, plus VAT (minimum 2 delegates)
• One day training course (3 machine categories) from £230 per person, plus VAT (minimum 2 delegates)
• Single delegates can be added to an existing course
• Accredited by IPAF, ID Card and Certificate provided (valid for a period of 5 years)
• PPE including Safety Boots required
• On Site training available (subject to certain requirements)
• Saturday training available at our Southend Depot (at an additional cost – minimum 3 delegates)
• Courses available to customer demand

As an Approved IPAF Training Centre, we are now able to offer fully certified training for people working with Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (scissor lifts, cherry pickers, etc.) accredited by IPAF (the International Powered Access Federation).  Each successful candidate will receive an IPAF PAL Card and Training Certificate, valid for a period of 5 years and internationally recognised as a licence to operate Powered Access equipment.

What is a PAL Card?

A PAL Card is a Powered Access Licence, issued by the International Powered Access Federation, a non-profit making organisation dedicated to promoting safe work at height.  Heightworkers need to show that they have been trained to work at height.  If they can’t, they may not be allowed on site.  That’s why the PAL Card is so important – it confirms that someone can operate Mobile Elevating Work Platforms safely and effectively.

It’s the law. The law requires employees to be properly trained on the equipment they use at work.  The PAL Card offers proof that employees have been trained to work at height safely.

IPAF has revised the categories in its training programme to align with the international standards prEN 280 and ISO DIS 16368, standards that regulate the design and manufacture of access platforms worldwide.

The IPAF OPERATOR Course

Generally, courses are run for a minimum of 2 delegates, on any 2 pieces of equipment, at a cost of £165 per person, plus VAT.  Single delegates can be added to an existing course.  Discounts are offered for groups of 4+, as per our training matrix.

We also offer a one day training course on 3 machine categories, minimum 2 delegates, maximum 5 delegates, at a cost of £230 per person, plus VAT.

Our Southend Depot can also offer training on a Saturday (minimum 3 delegates) at an additional cost of £100 per group.

What Does the Training Cover?

The aim of the IPAF training course is to provide delegates with an understanding of the need for accident prevention, safe operational procedures, emergency descent operations and the responsibilities of the employers and employees.  The IPAF course covers the main aims of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and associated regulations.

What Do I Need to Bring?

You MUST bring Safety Boots/Shoes, Hard Hat, High Visibility Vest, Weather Protective Clothing (i.e. fleeces, waterproofs, windproof, etc.)

Lunch/Refreshments are provided by Mark One Hire Limited when training is carried out on our premises.

Where Does the Training Take Place?

Training can be undertaken at our fully equipped Training Rooms at both  Southend and Chelmsford Depots, where the appropriate machinery is supplied by us.                                     

Alternatively, training can be carried out on site (quotations available upon request), if you are able to supply a training room and the appropriate machinery (fully charged, complete with test certificate and instruction manual).  Click here to find out more about our on site training requirements.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: 

Payment Terms: Account Customers will be charged to their monthly account.  Non account customers will be required to pay at the time of booking the course. 

Certification: Our charges include the cost of official certification.  Certificates and Identity Cards are posted out by First Class Recorded Delivery to the bill payer once full payment has been received.  If you require your certification urgently, please speak to our Training Department to discuss payment options.  Upon request, delegates can be issued with a letter confirming that they have passed the course on the day and are just awaiting their official certification to come through.

Cancellation Charges: 

Please note that you will be charged 50% of the total cost if cancellation is made less than 48 hours before the date of Training and 75% of the total cost if cancelled less than 24 hours before the day.  Please note, if all delegates do not arrive on the day you will be subject to 100% of the total cost.
