What do I need to Bring?

All delegates are required to bring full PPE (hard hat, high-visibility vest, weather protective clothing) including SAFETY BOOTS. 

Lunch and Refreshments are supplied on all training courses run at our Southend and Chelmsford Training Centres.

What Does the Training Cover?

The aim of the IPAF training course is to provide delegates with an understanding of the need for accident prevention, safe operational procedures, emergency descent operations and the responsibilities of the employers and employees.  The IPAF course covers the main aims of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and associated regulations.

Three easy ways to book your IPAF training:-

Please note, our normal office hours are Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm, outside of these times your call will be transferred to a mobile telephone number at no extra cost to you). Our IPAF Operator training is carried out to customer demand, subject to the availability of our Instructors. We currently employ three fully qualified IPAF Instructors and will do our utmost to meet your demands. If you cannot see the course that you require on our Booking Calendar, please do not hesitate to telephone our Training Line on 01702 561818 to discuss your needs. (Please note, this telephone line is manned outside normal working hours and after 5 rings will transfer to a mobile telephone number at no extra cost to you).

Where Does the Training Take Place?

We have two IPAF/PASMA Approved Training Centres based at Southend, Essex and Chelmsford, Essex.  The majority of the training takes place at our Southend Training Centre as this is a larger facility with three fully equipped training rooms and dedicated areas (both indoors and outside) for the practical assessment to take place.

We will supply the appropriate machinery when training is undertaken at either our Southend, Essex or Chelmsford, Essex IPAF Approved Training Centres.                                 

Alternatively, training can be carried out On Site (quotations available upon request), if you are able to supply a training room and the appropriate machinery (fully charged, complete with LOLER test certificate and instruction manual).  Click here to find out more about our on site training requirements.

On Site training is normally subject to a mileage charge of 40p per mile from our Southend Training Centre (SS4 1ND).

Course Joining Instructions - Southend Training Centre

Time:          8.00 am (please arrive 15 minutes before the start time)

Venue:        Mark One Hire Limited, 16 Purdeys Way, Purdeys Industrial Estate, Rochford, Essex, SS4 1ND.

• You MUST attend on time. If you are running late, in fairness to other delegates that may be on the course, please telephone our Hire Desk on 01702 545454 to advise (open from 7.20am).
• You MUST bring your hard hat.
• You MUST bring Safety Boots/Shoes.
• You MUST bring weather protective clothing (i.e. fleeces, waterproofs, windproof, etc.) as some of the training session may be outside.
• You MUST have an understanding of English in order to undertake the multiple choice question paper. Independent translators will be allowed to attend, by prior arrangement. Please telephone to discuss further on 01702 561818.
• PARKING FACILITIES - please park your vehicle in the Mark 1 Hire Parking Bays situated in Welton Way (the road to the left hand side of the main building). Parking at the front of the shop is to be kept free for hire shop customers.
• TRAVELLING BY TRAIN - please telephone our Hire Desk on 01702 545454 to arrange to be collected from Rochford Train Station (by prior arrangement only).  See HOW TO GET THERE

IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paying for the Training Course/Certification/Cancellation Charges/Contact Us:

Payment Terms: Account Customers will be charged to their monthly account.  Non account customers will be required to pay at the time of booking the course.  For your convenience we are able to accept payment by credit/debit card over the telephone (at no extra cost).

Certification: Our charges include the cost of official certification.  Certificates and Identity Cards are posted out by First Class Recorded Delivery to the bill payer once full payment has been received.  If you require your certification urgently, please speak to our Training Department to discuss payment options.  Upon request, delegates can be issued with a letter confirming that they have passed the training course on the day and are just awaiting their official certification to come through.

Cancellation Charges:

Please note that you will be charged 50% of the total cost if cancellation is made less than 48 hours before the date of Training and 75% of the total cost if cancelled less than 24 hours before the day.  Please note, if all delegates do not arrive on the day you will be subject to 100% of the total cost.

HOW TO GET THERE

Both of our Training Centres are easily accessible by road.

Southend Training Centre:-

Our Southend Training Centre is situated on the Purdeys Industrial Estate, Rochford, Essex, SS4 1ND.  Heading out of London, motorists can reach us via the A12, A13 or Junction 29 on the M25 and follow the signs towards Southend/Basildon (A127) and Southend Airport.  Our Training Centre is located approximately 5 minutes away from Southend Airport.  A map of the local area can be supplied upon request.

Our Chelmsford Training Centre is situated at 5 Argyll Road, Springfield, Chelmsford, Essex, CM2 6PY which is situated on the Dukes Park Industrial Estate.  Heading out of London, motorists can reach us via the A12 or Junction 28 on the M25.  A map of the local area can be be supplied upon request.

Train Journey to Southend Training Centre
Arriving at Rochford Train Station (Essex) at 7.44 am

6.55am            London Liverpool Street take train to Southend Victoria.
Alight at Rochford (Essex) 7.44am.

Directions for walking from Rochford Station:-

On leaving the station turn right at the main road, heading towards Southend.  Keep on this road, passing the Horse and Groom Public House on your left hand side.  At the next mini roundabout, The Ann Boleyn Public House, turn left, heading towards Purdeys Industrial Estate.  Stay on this road and at the next mini roundabout turn left onto the Industrial Estate.  Mark 1 Hire is situated on Purdeys Way just as the road bears round to the left at the bottom.  The journey will probably take about 20 minutes by foot.
