
IPAF Training Courses with Mark One Training
Overview:
At Mark One Training, we are dedicated to ensuring that everyone operating Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWPs) does so with complete knowledge and confidence. Our one-day IPAF Operator course has been meticulously designed to cater to the unique needs of those operating diverse MEWPs, from cherry pickers and scissor lifts to static booms and more.
Course Details:
Duration: One day
Format: Morning theory session with a written test, followed by an afternoon practical assessment.
Trainer Accreditation: Delivered by IPAF accredited Mark One Training Instructors.
Certification: Delegates who pass the course receive a digital IPAF PAL card. Physical IPAF cards can be requested at an additional cost.
Location:
The course is available at our Southend and Chelmsford training centres. You can pick your preferred date and centre through our 'Book' tab on our website.
Please note: The weight limit for the 1b machine at Chelmsford is 120kg.

IPAF 3A Training - Mobile Vertical Scissor Lift
IPAF 3B Training - Mobile Boom Self Propelled Boom
IPAF 1B Training - Static Boom that is Vehicle, Trailer or Track Mounted.

- Importance and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Understanding key Regulations and Standards (ISO 18878, European, HSWA, PUWER, LOLER, MHSW, WAHR, and RIDDOR)
- Deep dive into MEWP categories
- Tea Break (Complimentary Tea & Coffee by Mark 1 Training)
- Introduction to structural parts
- Discussion on safe operating methods and potential hazards
- Familiarisation with the machine
- Essential pre-use checks and inspections
- Lunch (Note: Currently not provided by Mark1 Training)
- Practical demonstration: Starting and stopping the machine
- Setting the machine for work
- Basic operational practice and its importance

Essentials for Delegates:
It's vital that delegates come prepared to make the most of the training:
Must bring:
Safety boots and a hard hat.
Recommended: Weather protective clothing, especially as the afternoon session is held outdoors.
Supplied by us: Harnesses for the entire course duration, especially for those undergoing cherry picker training.
