PASMA Towers with Cantilever Course — OneDay Course Overview

Sometimes there are obstacles and a standard tower won’t reach. Our PASMA cantilever training is tailored for users who need to work over obstacles, such as windows, stairwells, riser shafts, or protruding ledges, helping you assemble your platform in places where standard towers aren’t suited.

Our PASMA towers with cantilever course builds on your competence by teaching you how to safely configure, balance, and operate cantilever or offset frames. Over a full day, and working with our experienced PASMA-accredited instructors, you’ll mix theory with practical exercises and leave confident in using these more advanced tower setups.

To join our PASMA cantilever training you’ll need to have a valid PASMA Towers for Users certificate.

What You’ll Learn

You will practise building, adjusting, and inspecting cantilever frames under expert instructor supervision, that can be used in realworld applications.

In this PASMA towers with cantilever training, you will cover:

  • Your legal responsibilities under the Work at Height Regulations and those relating to cantilever use
  • British and European standards (such as EN1004 and BS11396) and relevant sections of the PASMA Code of Practice
  • How to judge the safety of a cantilever configuration
  • Preand post set up checks and inspections of cantilever towers
  • Understanding   the components in cantilever assemblies including cantilever frames, frame links, ballast (kentledge) systems, and counterbalance methods
  • How to safely assemble, alter, move, use, and dismantle a cantilever tower
  • Techniques for tower stability, tying in, managing offsets, and calculating counterbalance loads
  • Recognising specific cantilever hazards such as overswing, imbalance, overloading, structural stress
  • Best practices in accessing platforms safely when over obstacles

Assessment & Certification

At the end of the PASMA towers with cantilever course, you’ll complete both a written theory assessment (usually multiple choice, with an 80percent pass mark) and a practical assessment where you must demonstrate correct assembly, adjustment, inspection, use, and dismantling of a cantilever tower structure.

Upon successful completion, you’ll receive a PASMA PhotoCard and certificate valid for five years. Your PASMA card will display the “A6” category, marking your qualification in cantilever towers.

Why Take Our PASMA Cantilever Training?

Cantilever or offset towers bring additional complexity. Things like weight offsets, structural balancing, stability risks, and load limits all require additional training so that the user is protected. Mark One’s PASMA cantilever training gives you the specialised knowledge and real-world skill to manage these challenges safely. You’ll be able to reach harder-to-access areas safely, legally and confidently. This accreditation also shows employers and clients advanced skills and a commitment to safe practices.
